With pitchers and catchers set to report on Wednesday, the Houston Astros have announced their 2021 Spring Training rosters. The Astros will have 72 players on their Spring Training roster, which includes 33 non-roster invitees. Last season, the Astros were able to make the MLB Playoffs, and all the way to the American League Championship Series. However, there are quite a few key names missing from this list. George Springer, the longtime center fielder for Houston, is now in Toronto following free agency.
Additionally, Justin Verlander and Josh Reddick are also missing from the Astros Spring Training roster. Verlander was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery last season. Josh Reddick was not retained by the Astros and is currently a free agent.
Pitchers and Catchers are set to report on February 17th.
