The countdown is complete and we’re now just hours away from the 2022 NFL Draft in Las Vegas. With Free Agency underway, teams have already had the opportunity to rebuild their roster in hopes of making a championship run in 2022. However, the NFL Draft is a team’s chance to find promising young talent and build for the future. In this Houston Texans 2022 Mock Draft, we’ll do just that for the team on Kirby. Houston Texans 2022 Mock Draft This mock draft doesn’t include trades, although I do fully expect GM Nick Caserio to be quite active throughout all…

The Houston Astros lost their 1st and 2nd-round draft picks in the 2020 and 2021 MLB draft. Despite this, GM James Click has continued to build the Houston Astros Farm System. The organization has decided to let top-tier talent such as Gerrit Cole, George Springer, and Carlos Correa hit free agency and find new homes elsewhere. However, the Astros have been able to remain strong contenders in the MLB Playoffs. While there are plenty of prospects within the Houston Astros Farm System that are destined to reach the Major Leagues, we’ve highlighted our top six below. Be sure to follow¬†Houston…

Late last month, Major League Baseball announced the seven teams that would be part of the City Connect uniforms in 2022. The City Connect program was unveiled last year, but this was the first opportunity for the Houston Astros to participate. Prior to the final game of the series against the LA Angels, the Houston Astros City Connect uniforms were unveiled on social media, as well as the television broadcast. https://twitter.com/astros/status/1513162386789777412?s=20&t=nQ3PzNEj1152QU7Bg8muCw The uniforms not only honor the city’s ‘Space City’ past, but they also look pretty bad ass in my opinion. The uniforms were unveiled prior to the game against…

On Friday, the Deshaun Watson saga came to a close in Houston as he was traded to the Cleveland Browns. As part of the trade, the Texans send Deshaun Watson, along with a 2024 fifth-round pick to Cleveland for five total picks. Those include first-round picks over the next three years, along with a 2023 third-round pick and a 2024 fourth-round pick. Fans might believe that Houston should have received additional compensation for trading away their star quarterback. However, I’m not so sure that is the case. Watson still has civil cases pending following 22 allegations of sexual assault and…

It’s been a long time coming for fans of the Houston Texans. For just over a year now, Deshaun Watson has made it clear to the Houston Texans front office – he wants to be traded. In January of 2021, Watson made it clear that he wanted out of Houston. The organization fumbled the hiring of a general manager, ignoring the advice of search firm Korn Ferry. Rather than hiring a GM on the search firm’s list, Jack Easterby was able to convince Cal McNair to hire Nick Caserio from the New England Patriots. The rest, as they say, is…

Given the talent on the Houston Texans roster, a 40-0 beatdown at the hands of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday felt inevitable. However, what was unexpected is just how poorly the team played overall. Aside from an interception by Lonnie Johnson Jr., there was little for fans to get excited about. This article spawned from a discussion we had on the Texans Unfiltered podcast. The question is whether or not, at this point in the season, there is a franchise player that the Houston Texans can build their future around. Quarterbacks This position is the face of the franchise. However,…

It’s been a whirlwind few seasons for the Houston Astros. From the World Series Championship in 2017 to losing Gerrit Cole and George Springer to free agency. However, through all of it, there has been one consistency. Carlos Correa, the organization’s first-round pick, and the first overall selection, in the 2012 MLB Draft, has been the leader of this team. However, both Correa and the Astros have reached a crossroads. It’s a contract year for Carlos, and naturally, he wants to be paid like a top player in the league. Despite this, management has let the situation play out. With…

The Houston Texans have been in a tough position this season. Deshaun Watson, the team’s franchise quarterback, doesn’t want to play for the organization. To complicate matters even more, Deshaun Watson has 22 civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct. However, the NFL has stayed out of situation. As a result, Watson is cleared to play for an NFL franchise immediately. With the season underway, one has to wonder if it’s the right time to trade Deshaun Watson. Furthermore, is a trade to the Philadelphia Eagles a possibility for Deshaun Watson? The Houston Texans selected Clemson QB Deshaun Watson with the 12th…

On Wednesday, the Houston Astros made it official as they signed starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr to a five-year contract extension. McCullers returned to action in 2020 after recovering from Tommy John Surgery. With Astros Ace Justin Verlander recovering from his own Tommy John Surgery, and Zack Greinke in the final year of his deal, it’s the right time to extend McCullers. In late 2018, Lance McCullers Jr went through his own Tommy John Surgery, missing all of the 2019 season for the Houston Astros. However, he returned in 2020, albeit within a shortened season. Nonetheless, McCullers finished with a…
